What is an Activator?
Here at Alexander Chiropractic, Dr. Alexander uses the Activator system of adjusting. The activator is a precision instrument, which delivers a measured, precise, gentle force to a very specific area in order to restore motion to areas where joints have become “stuck”.
Stuck joints have lost their natural motion. This can lead to a variety of problems such as stiffness, pain, and pressure caused by the “fixation” of a joint or joints. When one area of the spine is not moving, the body will compensate for that area by making another area do more work, or move more than it should.
The activator delivers a very precise, very gentle measured force. There is no twisting, popping, snapping, or injecting.

Because there is no twisting, pulling, snapping or popping, the activator technique can successfully be used for patients who could not, or did not want to receive traditional chiropractic adjustments (such as children, senior citizens, or persons who are highly sensitive).
