Once you get going on an exercise routine that works for you, you may be reluctant to take a break for any reason. And if you start feeling sick, you may reason that exercise is healthy so you should keep doing it.
However, you may be defeating the purpose. When your body is fighting illness it may need all resources focused on fighting illness. Exercising too much, or at the wrong time or intensity could give an illness or infection impetus to spread.
You generally should NOT exercise when you have fever, coughing or chest congestion, fatigue, widespread body & muscle aches, vomiting, upset stomach and/or stomach cramps.
Listen to your body!
